Trump Tells Press They Will Be Disappointed Over Comey Tapes

Trump has surprised the press and the American public a number of times in one short press conference with the Romanian President, which took place in the Rose Garden of the White House.

The president teased that the ‘Comey Tapes’ do exist and that he will “Tell you about it over a short period of time.”

One reported said, “And you seem to be hinting that there are recordings of those conversations.” Trump responded by simply saying “I’m not hinting anything. I’ll tell you about it over a very short period of time. Oh, you’re going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer. Don’t worry.”

Trump was asked if he would be willing to refuse the testimony former FBI director Comey made under oath. The president stated that he would “100 percent” be willing to tell Special Counsel Mueller that he in no way requested that Comey put an end to the Flynn investigation at any point.

A reported asked, “Would you be willing to speak under oath to give your version of events?” The president responded, “100%. I hardly know the man. I’m not going to say “I want you to pledge allegiance.” Who would do that I mean think of it. I hardly know the man. It doesn’t make any sense.”

There was another reporter who asked president Trump why he felt vindicated over Comey’s testimony, to which he replied “No collusion, no obstruction, he’s a leaker…”

When a reporter told the president directly that Comey “Said under oath that you told him to let the Flynn investigation go,” the president responded by saying “I never said that. There wouldn’t be anything wrong with it even if I said it, according to everyone else, but no I didn’t say that.” The president spent a significant portion of the outdoor press conference denying that he ever told Comey to shut down the Flynn investigation at any point.

It comes as at least a bit of a shock that President Trump even revealed the existence of the alleged “Comey tapes,” but now the anticipation seems to be at an all time high even those he said that people should expect to be disappointed. When reporters pressed Trump as to when he would reveal the tapes, all he would say was “over a very short period of time.” It isn’t yet clear when exactly that is going to be.
